There is one new COVID-19 case in our region, a Torquay resident, announced in today’s numbers. They were in quarantine during their entire infectious period and there are no additional exposure sites related to this case.

Barwon Health has four inpatients with COVID, each transferred from Metropolitan Melbourne. Two are in a stable condition, one is in a critical but stable condition, and one is in a serious but stable condition.

Demand for testing has been strong and we thank people for getting tested with any symptoms or attendance at the exposure sites listed on the. Our Geelong Showgrounds pop-up testing site will remain open for the rest of the week, until demand drops.

There are 80 staff listed as Tier 1 contacts from Coles Waurn Ponds, and more than 120 in total from exposure sites in our region.

Coles at Ocean Grove has also been identified as an exposure site, resulting from another positive case outside our region, so we ask people to check the exposure site dates and times listed on the Department of Health website.
